Meet the SDRs

At every company, Sales Development Representatives are on the frontlines, generating leads and moving them into the sales pipeline after determining whether they’re a likely customer. At Demandbase, our SDRs wear many hats: they’re also problem solvers, beta testers and company ambassadors. And even with all that responsibility, they also always manage to be the life of every party. We stole a few minutes out of their busy schedules to ask them questions about their job and why they love it.

What do you think are the most important qualities necessary for someone to succeed in your role?

“You must have a passion for learning. We are at peak of the Account-Based Marketing Revolution for B2B businesses and in order to gain credibility, enhance your strategy and develop the skills necessary for a closing role, you must have knowledge in the industry.”

“The most important quality to be a successful SDR at Demandbase is tenacity. You need to keep your foot on the gas and recognize a golden opportunity when it is in front of you.”

What brought you to Demandbase? What made you stay?

“A friend brought me in to Demandbase about a year and a half ago, and the company has only shown signs of growth since. I’ve stayed at Demandbase because I’m consistently given more opportunity to learn and contribute to the company.”

Because Demandbase is still growing at a rapid pace, has your role in the company changed as a result? How?

“I have been fortunate enough to climb the proverbial SDR ladder, making my way through two promotions and now leading the East Coast Team, getting the management experience I always wanted.”

Describe the culture of the company; Any weird traditions or quirky conventions?

“Company parties. I have never been to a company where I get to hang out with the Executive team and play a game of corn hole.”

“The NYC office in particular loves chanting, margaritas, and cartwheels all together.”

Describe the people you sit next to. What do you love about your coworkers?

“I sit with the rest of the SDR team, and truly love coming into work every day. We are typically the first ones in, and known in the office for our high energy and happy hours.”

What advice would you give to new hires?

“Stay human and don’t be afraid to reach out to people or ask dumb questions – we have all been there and people like to help, it makes them feel important.”

What’s different about working here than anywhere else you’ve worked?

“I genuinely enjoy coming into the office each day, and everyone feels that what they do is truly impacting the success of the company, no matter what their role is.”

“Company culture is definitely a huge priority and it shows. There are really down to earth people who work here and it is a happy environment. Demandbase spends money on their people and promotes from within.”
