Chris Golec – Founder & CEO
Chris Golec founded and has led Demandbase since its inception.. He brings more than 20 years experience and a successful entrepreneurial track record to the company. Chris started his first business, Supplybase, in the mid 90's to help large enterprises overcome the challenges purchasing and engineering groups face in managing their global supplier base. After building significant momentum in the marketplace, Supplybase was acquired by i2 Technologies (ITWO) in 2000 for $380 million. After leaving i2, Chris started a consulting practice to help companies build and manage world-class demand generation operations. The successful consulting practice became Demandbase, Inc. with the vision of transforming the way B2B companies identify, reach, and convert new customers. Prior to becoming a software entrepreneur, Chris spent 10 years with GE and DuPont in global marketing, sales and engineering roles. He earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Boston University.
Martin Longo – Chief Technology Officer
Martin has more than 25 years of experience in the software industry with a proven career of success in enterprise software environments with early and mid-stage software companies. He has held leadership positions at various companies including: Technical Director for Oracle's online learning architecture, Director of product management at SuperCede and Asymetrix (both Paul Allen companies) as well as Chief Technical Architect responsible for the architecture and implementation of the Alaskan Command & Control System Military Automated Network. Additionally, Martin spent four years at Cognos as a strategic accounts engineer & technical liaison to Digital Equipment Corporation. His core competencies include Object-oriented analysis, Domain-driven & Usage-Centered Design, Agile Development, light-weight frameworks, Open Source stacks and Rich Internet Applications. Martin did his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at Colgate University.
Susan Chenoweth Scarth – Vice President of Marketing
Susan Chenoweth Scarth leads Demandbase’s marketing and communications strategy. She brings more than 20 years of marketing experience and success in building global brands. Prior to Demandbase she was the Vice President of Marketing for Jigsaw, a provider of business information and data services. Before Jigsaw, Susan was Group Vice President of Global Marketing for Taleo (NASDAQ: TLEO) where she led their worldwide marketing strategy and helped take the company through a successful IPO. In addition, Susan has run her own marketing consultancy advising start-up technology firms on strategy and positioning. Previously, she was a Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Commerce One when their revenues exploded from $2 million to $700 million. Her early marketing career includes positions at Netscape and Microsoft. Earlier in her career, Susan held sales positions at IBM and Tandem Computers. Susan completed the Stanford University Executive Program for Growing Companies and earned her BA in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Dan Lovette – Vice President of Sales
Dan Lovette is responsible for Demandbase’s sales efforts. He has more than 14 years of sales leaderhsip experience building highly efficient sales teams for high growth companies. Prior to Demandbase, Dan spent 5 years at UltraDNS – a leading provider of Directory Services – creating one of the first SaaS selling operations that took the company from less than $2 million in revenue to profitability. The company was successfully acquired by NeuStar (Nasdaq: NSR) in 2006 for over $65 million. Dan also held sales management positions at several large technology companies including Beyond.com, Onyx Software and Amplitude Software. Dan earned a B.A. from the University of California, Davis.
Larry Bernstein – Vice President of Engineering
Larry Bernstein is responsible for Demandbase’s product development and engineering. He brings more than 25 years experience in engineering leadership roles and came to Demandbase from Xoom Corporation, a provider of global payment processing technologies. Previously, Larry was Vice President of Engineering at QRS Corporation (acquired by Inovis, Inc. for $112 million) and managed a team of 70+ employees focused on building B2B supply chain products. Prior to QRS, Larry ran the Server Platforms and Development Infrastructure groups at Kenamea, Inc., an InfoWorld Technology of the Year award winner. He also led a highly successful Customer Support and Quality Assurance team at Crossworlds before it became part of IBM in 2001 as part of a $129 million acquisition. Earlier in his career, Larry worked at Sybase as a senior engineer and manager for the network connectivity software. He earned an MS from Texas A&M University.
David Lieberman – Vice President of Business Development
David Lieberman leads Demandbase’s business development strategy. In his role, David is charged with building key partnerships with leading solution providers in the online marketing space as well as further expanding Demandbase’s content and data partnerships. David brings over twenty three years experience in sales and marketing with leading technology organizations, including ten years in the business information sector at DowJones/Factiva, iSyndicate, and Thompson. Prior to joining Demandbase, David was responsible for Yahoo’s growth within the search and display advertising categories and led a team responsible for $200 million in annual revenue. Before Yahoo, Lieberman held sales leadership positions at Dow Jones/Factiva, and Thompson Business Information, and early in his career spent five very successful years at Xerox Corporation in various sales and marketing roles. He earned a BA from the University of California Berkeley.

Anthony Lee – Director
Anthony Lee is a General Partner of Altos Ventures, focusing on investments in the areas of infrastructure, Internet and enterprise software. Anthony currently serves as a director of Accelovation, CrownPeak, Demandbase, GuardianEdge, and Xignite. Before joining Altos Ventures, he served as Vice President of Marketing for Evolve (EVLV, later acquired by Primavera) where he developed and executed a turnaround strategy that resulted in a successful IPO. Anthony also served as Vice President of Marketing for social search pioneer Clip2.com and co-founded Signature Wines, a national distributor of private-labeled wines. Previously, Anthony was a strategic consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he worked with clients in the telecommunications and pharmaceuticals industries. Anthony received his MBA from Stanford University and earned a BA in Politics and Economics from Princeton University.
Dennis Stradford – Director
Dennis Stradford has more than 35 years in the high tech industry leading global companies to success. After starting his career in sales for IBM, Dennis joined Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX) where he led the growth from $40 million to $2+ billion per year and an IPO as the company's senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. After leaving Flextronics, Dennis entered the software industry at Supplybase where he successfully built and sold the company in March of 2000 for $380 million. He now serves as CEO of Nomis Solutions, a leader in pricing software for large banks and financial services companies. Dennis earned Bachelors of Arts degree at San Jose State University and holds a Master's degree from St. Patrick's Theologate
Bob Spinner – Director
Bob Spinner is a Managing Director at Sigma Partner and brings to the firm two decades of high-technology business operational experience. Throughout his career, Bob has served in various operational capacities, including CEO, worldwide sales, technical sales support, software programming, database design, and private and public fundraising. While at Sigma, Bob has helped a number of the firm's portfolio companies expand operations, build management teams and increase revenues. Bob's technology focus areas include enterprise applications software, e-commerce, and software as a service. Prior to joining Sigma, Bob was President and CEO of Extensity. During his tenure, Extensity grew from $1 million to $25 million while raising money through private funding and an Initial Public Offering. In March of 2003, Extensity was sold to GEAC. Prior to Extensity, Bob was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and International Operations at Clarify, a leading provider of integrated CRM solutions. During his tenure at Clarify, he grew the company from $5 million to $140 million in revenue while managing a worldwide organization of 260 professionals. Prior to Clarify, Bob served in expanding roles at Sybase including working as the director of one of Sybase's most successful regions. Bob has also held technical roles at ADR and Chevron, including sales engineer, programmer and database administrator. Bob received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
